Westwood rallies to victory in Thailand

Chonburi, Thailand (SportsNetwork.com) – Lee Westwood carded a 5-under 67 in
Sunday’s final round and he came from behind to win the Thailand Golf
Championship.

Westwood completed the victory at 8-under-par 280. This was his second win at
this event and his eighth on the Asian Tour.

The Englishman stumbled to bogeys at the first and second at Amata Spring
Country Club. After three pars in a row, Westwood poured in four consecutive
birdies from the sixth to move to 5-under.

Westwood, who was in the penultimate group, birdied the 11th and followed with
a pair of pars. He dropped in back-to-back birdie chances at 14 and 15 to
climb to minus-8. Westwood closed with three pars in a row.

U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer posted a 4-under 68 in the final round. He
was joined in second place at minus-7 by third-round leader Marcus Fraser, who
closed with a 2-under 70. Kaymer bogeyed the 17th to fall one back and Fraser
bogeyed the 18th for second day in a row.

Tommy Fleetwood also shot 70 on Sunday and he took fourth at minus-5. Scott
Hend (69) ended one back at 4-under-par 284. Last year’s winner Sergio Garcia
posted a 3-under 69 in the final round and he ended alone in ninth place at
minus-2.
