Cattai, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) – Lincoln Tighe went low with a 7-
under 64 in Sunday’s final round and that gave him a 1-shot victory at the
Nanshan NSW PGA Championship.
Tighe finished the week at 19-under-par 265, which was one shot better than
runner-up Scott Arnold. The victory is Tighe’s first on the PGA Tour of
Australasia.
Tighe started off on fire and he never really slowed down at Riverside Oaks
Golf Resort Cattai. Tighe began with four birdies on his first five holes
before dropping his first and only shot with a bogey on six. Tighe responded
right away, however, as he poured in his fifth birdie in seven holes on the
par-4 seventh.
After making the turn with three straight pars from eight, Tighe made another
gain on the par-3 11th. Three holes later, Tighe drained his seventh birdie on
No. 14 and he later added another one on the par-4 17th, which wound up
winning him the tournament as he finished up with a par at the last.
Arnold was the only other player in striking distance of Tighe. Arnold shot a
1-under 70 to finish alone in second at 18-under 266. Kristopher Mueck (66)
and Troy Moses (69) both tied for third at 14-under 270.
