San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Rory McIlroy finally advanced to the
semifinals of the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship on Sunday, outlasting
Paul Casey in 22 holes to win their suspended quarterfinal match.
Darkness halted play after 21 holes on Saturday and it took just one hole on
Sunday to finish the match.
McIlroy birdied the par-5 1st hole on Sunday to win it and will next face
American Jim Furyk in the semifinals.
The other semifinal features England’s Danny Willett against American Gary
Woodland.
