McIlroy ends year atop world rankings

Philadelphia, PA ( – There was not much change to the
men’s world rankings as there were just two changes inside the top 20 this

Rory McIlroy finished the year as the No. 1 ranked player as he holds a
comfortable lead atop the rankings.

Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Bubba Watson all stayed put as Nos. 2-4. The
lone change to the top 10 saw Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose swap spots, with
Garcia moving up one to No. 5.

Jim Furyk, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Martin
Kaymer all remained the same at Nos. 7 through 12. FedEx Cup champion Billy
Horschel exchanged places with Phil Mickelson, moving Horschel up one to No.
13 and Mickelson down a spot to No. 14.

Graeme McDowell, Hideki Matsuyama, Victor Dubuisson, Zach Johnson, Dustin
Johnson and Chris Kirk rounded out the top 20 once again from No. 15.

With this being the final world ranking for 2014, several players earned
invitations to the 2015 Masters for ending this season in the top-50 in the
rankings. Among that group were Joost Luiten, Stephen Gallacher, Shane Lowry,
Mikko Ilonen and Danny Willett, who moved from 51 to 50 this week.
