Sao Paulo, Brazil (SportsNetwork.com) – Peter Malnati used a big finish to
fire a 5-under 66 in Sunday’s final round and he went on to win by four shots
at the Brasil Champions.
Malnati, who concluded his third round earlier on Sunday and was tied for the
lead with Tyler Duncan to start round four, finished the week at 22-under-par
262. The win is Malnati’s second on the Web.com Tour, with his first one
coming at the 2013 News Sentinel Open.
Seven players finished runner-up and four shots behind Malnati, including John
Mallinger, who tied Malnati for the lead before slipping a little bit late at
Sao Paulo Golf Club.
Mallinger carded a 5-under 66 and ended tied for second with Henrik Norlander
(64), Julian Etulain (64), Timothy Madigan (66), Matt Davidson (68), Abraham
Ancer (69) and Duncan (70) at 18-under 266.
