Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Sei Young Kim defeated Sun Young Yoo
and Ariya Jutanugarn in a playoff to win the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic on
Sunday, vaulting her 17 spots to No. 17 in the world rankings, while Lydia Ko
was able to hang on to her No. 1 ranking after finishing tied for seventh.
Ko was in danger of losing her No. 1 spot to Inbee Park, but her tie for
seventh combined with Park’s tie for fifth kept Ko atop the rankings for the
second straight week.
Park remained at No. 2 again this week. Stacy Lewis, Shanshan Feng, Suzann
Pettersen and Michelle Wie also stayed put from No. 3.
The first and only change inside the top 10 came when Hyo-Joo Kim and So Yeon
Ryu swapped spots, with Kim jumping one to No. 7 and Ryu falling to No. 8.
Karrie Webb and Lexi Thompson rounded out the top 10 at nine and 10,
respectively.
Kyu Jung Baek, Na Yeon Choi, Anna Nordqvist, Azahara Munoz and Cristie Kerr
held steady from 11, while Sun Ju Ahn and Mi Rim Lee traded places, with Ahn
up one to 16.
Brittany Lincicome improved two spots to No. 18 as Ha-Na Jang and Jessica
Korda each fell one. Jang dropped to 19 and Korda to 20.
