Inkster among 3 tied for lead in Texas

Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Juli Inkster carded a 5-under 66 in
Thursday’s first round and the 54-year-old is among three tied for the lead at
the North Texas Shootout.

Inkster, who is the captain of the 2015 U.S. Solheim Cup team, has 31 career
wins on the LPGA Tour. She is tied with 17-time winner Cristie Kerr and Sydnee
Michaels, seeking her first victory on tour.

There is a logjam atop the leaderboard after round one, with 19 players within
two shots of the lead. Lexi Thompson, Angela Stanford, Sandra Gal, Gerina
Piller, Wei-Ling Hsu, Alena Sharp, Maria Hernandez, Ryann O’Toole and Natalie
Gulbis are all tied for fourth at 4-under 67.

Michelle Wie is one of nine players to shoot a 3-under 68, tying them for 14th
at Las Colinas Country Club.

Defending champion Stacy Lewis is one shot further back and tied for 23rd at
minus-2.
