Buenos Aires, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) – Fabian Gomez fired a final-
round, 10-under 62 to win by seven shots and successfully defend his title at
the rain-shortened Personal Classic.
Gomez finished his third and final round on Monday at 24-under-par 192,
securing his second victory on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica, both of which came
at this event. The tournament was shortened to 54 holes due to bad weather at
Las Praderas Club Campos de Golf.
It was a virtually flawless final round for Gomez as he started with back-to-
back birdies on one and two. Two holes later, Gomez made an eagle on the par-5
fourth hole, getting him to minus-4 on the day.
Following a trio of pars, Gomez made his first and only bogey of the week on
No. 8. He responded right away by making his second eagle of the day on the
par-5 ninth, making the turn at 5-under.
Gomez did not slow down on the back nine as he coasted to the finish with
birdies on 10, 11, 13, 15 and 18 to secure a 7-shot victory.
Gustavo Acosta was the next closest player to Gomez as he finished at 17-under
199 after a 2-under 70. Nelson Ledesma (66) finished alone in third at 15-
under 201, while Rodolfo Cazaubon (67) and Tommy Cocha (71) ended tied for
fourth at minus-14.
