Far Hills, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – The United States Golf Association
announced on Tuesday that The Golf Club of Tennessee has been chosen to host
the 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.
This will be the first time the club, located in Kingston Springs, Tennessee,
will play host to a USGA event. The championship is scheduled to be played
Aug. 6-12.
“We are proud to welcome The Golf Club of Tennessee to the fold of USGA
championship courses,” said USGA vice president and Championship Committee
chairman Diana Murphy. “A USGA championship is a true test of a player’s
mental and physical fortitude, and we are sure that The Golf Club of Tennessee
will provide a worthy challenge to all 156 competitors.”
The 2018 event will be the 16th USGA championship played in Tennessee, and the
third in a four-year span. The 2015 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur will be played
at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, while the 2016 Junior Amateur is set to
be contested at The Honors Course in Ooltewah.
